Health and happiness is for most people probably the main purpose of life. How do we keep our energy levels high, how can we feel happy all the time. Many different factors are responsible for this and most people are familiar with the facts that we need to eat healthy foods, do daily exercises, take time to connect with nature and meditate to practice “present moment awareness”. As for me, I am teaching myself to be more aware in my cooking. Preparing recipes step by step and taking time to appreciate all the ingredients that pass through my hands. Since coming back from India, I am practicing a lot on Indian recipes. Today I prepared “Poha Shivda”. I tried it for the first time last week and I am so enthusiastic about this recipe that I thought I would share it with you on my blog. The original recipe you will find here: https://www.vegrecipesofindia.com/poha-chivda-recipe/
First step: preparing all the ingredients. Please follow the link for quantities. I did not have green pepper. I used red chili powder as a substitute. For the rice flakes, I had to order them online, because I cannot find them in the grocery stores in Kufstein. I ordered them here: https://www.jamoona.com

Next, start roasting and preparing all the ingredients according to the recipe. https://www.vegrecipesofindia.com/poha-chivda-recipe/

And do you know what is the main secret of this recipe?

I very much enjoyed my lunch today. I sprinkled poha Chivda on my Jeruzalem artisjok soup, a delicious recipe from the new Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof book (where I teach yoga): “Ayurveda, Die 7-Tage- Panchakarma-Kur”. A beautiful book with lots of easy to make recipes, yoga asanas to support your detox and much, much more. I can definitely recommend the book to guide you in achieving a healthy and happy life!
